Q: Do I need to buy any extra tools?
A: This bundle includes all the specialist tools you need to complete both projects. However, a tweezers is recommended for working with small SMD components. You most likely have a tweezers at home already, but if not, we also sell them HERE.

Q: Is this bundle beginner-friendly and suitable for kids?
A: Yes! By following our detailed instruction manuals carefully, anyone can build these kits. Some of the components are small and can be tricky to work with, but just take your time and work carefully and you'll manage them just fine! We recommend that kids under 16 are supervised by an adult when soldering. Indeed, this makes them a great project for parent-teen bonding time!

Q: How long does it take to build the kits?
A: Most builders complete each kit in 1-2 hours, but they can take up to 3 hours each if troubleshooting is needed. Great for a quick evening project or weekend activity.

Product Specifications

Each of the two kits includes a combination of both through-hole electronic components and a small number of surface mounted devices (SMDs). Both kits have user adjustable features so you can modify effects such as brightness, speed, and LED lighting pattern.

Includes a 60W adjustable soldering iron (200–450ºC) with a region-specific plug (EU, UK 220V or US 110V), ideal for electronics assembly. Be sure to select the correct plug type for your region/county before placing your order.

The lead-free solder wire (0.8 mm) features a 2% rosin flux core and is tested free from hazardous heavy metals.

The solder flux paste is highly recommended for these kits which is why we chose to include it with this bundle. It will make soldering the SMD components easier to manage.
