Affiliate Programme Terms and Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to participation in The Science Hut Affiliate Programme. By applying to or participating in the programme, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Eligibility & Approval

Participation in the affiliate programme is subject to approval by The Science Hut.

We reserve the right to accept or decline any application at our discretion.

Affiliates must provide accurate and up-to-date information about themselves, their social media accounts, websites and audience.

We may request additional information or verification of an affiliate's social media following or audience before approving an application or awarding an increased commission rate.

The Science Hut primarily accepts affiliates whose audiences are located in markets where we actively sell and support affiliate marketing. We reserve the right to decline or terminate participation based on the location or composition of an affiliate's audience.

2. Affiliate Discount Code

Each approved affiliate will receive a unique discount code.

The code provides the affiliate's audience with 10% off eligible purchases, subject to any applicable exclusions.

Affiliate codes may not be used by the affiliate themselves, their immediate household, or for purchases made primarily for resale.

Affiliate codes may not be combined with other discount codes or promotional offers unless expressly authorised by The Science Hut.

Affiliates must not publish or distribute their code through unauthorised coupon or discount-code websites without prior approval.

3. Commission

Affiliates receive 15% commission on eligible product sales generated using their unique affiliate discount code.

Approved social media creators with 20,000 or more followers may qualify for an increased commission rate of 18%.

The increased 18% rate is subject to approval by The Science Hut and is not automatically granted solely on the basis of follower count.

Commission is calculated on the eligible product sales amount actually paid by the customer after applicable discounts and excluding VAT or other sales taxes, cancelled orders, refunded amounts, chargebacks and other amounts that are not ultimately retained by The Science Hut.

A sale is attributed to an affiliate only when the affiliate's unique discount code is successfully used on the order. Sales where the affiliates discount code was not used cannot be claimed for.

Example: A customer purchases €50 of products and receives 10% off using an affiliate code, paying €45 including 20% VAT. The VAT-exclusive sales value is €37.50. At a 15% commission rate, the affiliate earns €5.63.

4. Eligible Sales & Refunds

Commission is only payable on completed and eligible sales.

Cancelled, refunded, partially refunded, charged-back or otherwise reversed orders are not eligible for commission.

If a commission has already been paid on an order that is subsequently refunded, cancelled, charged back or otherwise reversed, the corresponding commission may be deducted from the affiliate's future commission payments.

We reserve the right to adjust commission calculations where an order is later found to be ineligible.

5. Commission Calculation & Payment

Commissions are calculated on a monthly basis.

Where an eligible sale is made in a currency other than EUR, the eligible sales value will be converted to EUR using the applicable exchange rate on the date the order was placed. The exchange rate used will be the exchange rate supplied by the payment provider for each relevant transaction.

All affiliate commissions are calculated and paid in EUR (€).

Once the commission has been calculated in EUR, subsequent changes in exchange rates will not affect the commission payable.

Commissions must reach a minimum balance of €20 before payment is made. Any unpaid balance below €20 will roll over to the following month.

Sales generated during each calendar month are reviewed and verified during the following month.

Commission is calculated monthly and, subject to verification and the applicable payment threshold, is normally paid in EUR on or around the 15th of the following month.

We may delay payment where there are outstanding refunds, suspected fraudulent activity, disputed transactions or other circumstances requiring further verification.

Affiliates are responsible for providing accurate payment information and ensuring that they are able to receive payments from The Science Hut.

Affiliates are responsible for any taxes, duties or other financial obligations arising from payments they receive through the programme.

6. Promotion & Advertising

Affiliates may promote The Science Hut and its products through their approved social media accounts, websites, blogs, YouTube channels, online communities and other channels agreed with The Science Hut.

Affiliates must clearly disclose their commercial relationship with The Science Hut whenever promoting our products or sharing their affiliate code, in accordance with applicable advertising and consumer protection requirements.

Affiliates must not make false, misleading or unsubstantiated claims about The Science Hut, its products, prices, discounts, availability or performance.

Affiliates must not represent themselves as employees, representatives or official spokespersons of The Science Hut.

Affiliates must not use The Science Hut's branding, trademarks, product images or other materials in a way that suggests an official endorsement or partnership beyond their approved affiliate relationship.

Affiliates must not engage in spam, unsolicited commercial messaging or other unlawful promotional activity.

7. Paid Advertising

Affiliates must obtain prior written approval from The Science Hut before using paid advertising to promote our products or affiliate codes.

Without prior approval, affiliates may not:

- Bid on The Science Hut or related brand names in search advertising.

- Create advertisements that appear to be official advertisements from The Science Hut.

- Use our brand name or trademarks in paid search keywords, advertising copy or domain names.

- Run paid social-media advertising using The Science Hut's branding or products.

8. Affiliate Conduct

Affiliates must not:

- Purchase products using their own affiliate code for the purpose of generating commission.

- Encourage friends, family members or others to make purchases solely for the purpose of generating commission where the purchase is not genuine.

- Manipulate, abuse or attempt to circumvent the affiliate tracking or discount system.

- Misrepresent the discount available to customers or the commission they receive.

- Use their affiliate code in connection with illegal, offensive, deceptive or inappropriate content.

- Engage in any activity that could reasonably damage the reputation of The Science Hut or its products.

9. Termination

Either party may end the affiliate relationship at any time.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate an affiliate account immediately where we believe these Terms & Conditions have been breached, the programme has been misused, fraudulent activity has occurred, or the affiliate's activities could negatively affect The Science Hut.

Upon termination, the affiliate must stop promoting The Science Hut and must stop using their affiliate code. Affiliate discount codes will be deactivated upon termination.

Eligible commissions earned before termination will remain payable, subject to these Terms & Conditions and any applicable adjustments for refunds, cancellations, chargebacks or other reversals.

10. Changes to the Programme

We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the affiliate programme at any time.

We may change commission rates, discount levels, eligibility requirements or other programme terms from time to time.

Where material changes are made, we will provide reasonable notice to active affiliates where practicable.

11. No Guarantee of Earnings

Participation in the affiliate programme does not guarantee any particular level of sales, commission or income. Affiliate earnings depend on the sales generated through the affiliate's promotional activities.

12. General

Participation in the affiliate programme does not create an employment, partnership, joint venture or agency relationship between the affiliate and The Science Hut.

Affiliates are independent promoters and are responsible for their own activities, taxes and legal obligations.

These Terms & Conditions should be read together with any specific written agreement or arrangement between The Science Hut and an individual affiliate. Where there is a conflict, the specific written agreement will take precedence.
