Learning Outcomes and Benefits

Electronics & Circuitry Basics: Learn about resistors, capacitors, LEDs, diodes, and transistors. Study the detailed instruction manual and the circuit diagram to learn what each component does and how they all work together to produce the memory game.

Microcontroller Fundamentals: Discover how a programmed chip controls LEDs, sounds, and gameplay logic. Learn about feedback loops in electronics.

Practical Soldering Skills: Gain confidence with through-hole soldering, plus one relatively easy-to-solder SMD component—this serves as a great introduction to working with SMD components, which are prevalent in today's electronic devices.

Memory Training: After you've had the fun of building the game, use it to strengthen your memory recall and pattern recognition abilities with progressively harder sequences—up to 99 levels.

STEM in Action: See how coding, hardware, and logic combine to create a complete interactive device. This is an excellent foundation for learning how all electronics devices work.

Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Build resilience by identifying and fixing soldering issues or component placement issues that might arise during assembly. The sense of achievement from diagnosing and resolving an electronics problem is one of the most satisfying feelings you can have!

Cognitive Benefits: Improve focus, attention span, and mental agility while playing the memory game.

Show-and-Tell Ready: Create something impressive you can bring to class, clubs, or workshops. Your friends will be amazed when you tell them you built it yourself from simple parts!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What makes this different from other STEM Electronics kits?
A: Unlike simple “build-and-done” kits, this one gives you a fully functional game you can play again and again. It combines electronics learning with real cognitive training and many hours of entertainment—train your brain while you have fun!

Q: How many levels does the game have?
A: Up to 99 levels of difficulty, with the game remembering your best score. Each level adds one more light to the sequence. Can you beat level 99? Challenge your family and friends—set your highest score and challenge anyone to beat it.

Q: Do I need to write code for this kit?
A: No, the MCU comes the code pre-installed to run the game functions and logic. Advanced electronics hobbyists can reprogram the code on the MCU if they have the right tools, knowledge, and experience.

Q: Is this suitable for beginners?
A: Yes! Most components are easy through-hole parts. Just follow our detailed instruction manual which has photographs and descriptions of every step. There’s one SMD component included to introduce learners to more advanced soldering. However, as SMD components go, this one is pretty easy to solder with connection points well spaced out and large enough to see with your unaided eyes.

Q: Where can I use this kit?
A: It’s great for STEM classrooms, homeschool projects, science fairs, maker clubs, and family bonding.

Q: What’s the gameplay like?
A: Four buttons light up in different colours in a random sequence. You must repeat the sequence correctly. Each level adds another step, making it harder as you progress. In addition to lighting up, each sequence also produces sounds. Therefore, you can train both your visual memory and your hearing memory!

Q: Can the game save my high score?
A: Yes! It stores your all-time best score so you can keep challenging yourself—or compete with friends. You also have the option of resetting the game back to level 1 at any time.

Fun kit and fun game

This was a fun kit to build, and a fun game to play. It has a couple of skill challenges - the sound chip board, and the proper height for the LED digits - which make it a good kit to build, along with the usual attention to soldering detail. It's another colorful project that will improve your building skills and leave you with a game to share.

Hi Dave, thank you so much for taking the time to review your kit—we really appreciate it! We agree, getting the height just right for the LED blocks to give the best-looking finished product is a key step. Do you think you'll ever get to level 99? We have one circling around the office here with a current high-score of 26, but nobody has beaten that in the last 3 weeks—the challege continues :)

Excellent kit

Fantastic value for money, had a great time building this electronics kit, it includes very high quality components, and now I am having a blast playing the game... I'm currently on level 24, I never thought I'd make it past level 10... just goes to show the brain training really does work!

Hell Sean, thank you very much for your order and for taking the time to leave a review. Glad you're happy with the kit and enjoying all the benefits it has to offer... level 24 is already very impressive—keep it up—we'd love to hear about it when you get past level 50 :)
