Q: Why is the price not exactly the face value?
A: There are two situations that can arise:
- If the difference is small (e.g. a €20 voucher listed at €19.95), it’s simply due to rounding rules in our store. You’ll still receive a voucher worth the full €20.
- If the price is noticeably off (e.g. a £20 voucher showing as £21), it’s due to exchange rate fluctuations. We update voucher prices weekly, but currency exchange rates can change between updates.
If you spot a mismatch, please contact us before purchasing — we can adjust the price to match the current exchange rate.
Q: Do I need to spend the whole amount in one transaction?
A: No, you can spend a part of the value of the gift card and the remaining balance will be available for future purchases.
Q: What if I want to purchase something that is more expensive than the value of the gift card?
A: When you get to the checkout, you can enter your gift card number. The value of the gift card will be deducted from the total due, and the balance can be paid using your preferred payment method.
Q: What is the expiry for the gift card?
A: As per statutory requirements, our gift cards are valid for 5 years from the date of issue.
Q: Can I exchange the gift card for cash?
A: No, gift cards can only be used to purchase products on our store. You may sell the gift card to someone else if you wish.

A: When you enter the gift card code at checkout, the available balance is displayed. Alternatively, you can contact us and we can let you know what the balance is.

A: Most items on our store ship for free. Where there are shipping costs, the gift card balance can be used to cover them.

A: Our gift cards are emailed to you, so there's no risk of loss of a physical card. Just search your emails for info@thesciencehut.com to find all emails you received from and you should be able to find the email. If you can't locate it, just contact us with your name and order number and we can retrieve the details from our system for you.

A: Absolutely, there are no restrictions on use.
