This helping hands tool requires assembly before use. Take your time and assemble it properly and ensure nuts are tightened (especially the one in the base). With a lot of use and moving around, things come loose if you haven't assembled it right, but once it is properly assembled, it's a good tool. The magnification with the bright LED is great for identifying those small resistors or reading that tiny text you usually find on the electronic components.

Thanks also for sharing your advice around ensuring the tool is properly and securely assembled prior to first use. We agree with everything you've said, with the device expected to be moved around the work surface many times during use, any fixtures that aren't securely fastened would surely come loose over time.
Some of the screws were a bit loose, I had to remove the base to tighten them which only took about 5 minutes, so no issue. Suitable for holding circuit boards weighing up to about 250 grams.
This has transformed my ability to work on circuits. No more trying to balance things on matchboxes or to hold them in place with tape... this thing is just like having an extra pair of hands. The light and magnification are an added bonus. Highly recommend this for anyone making up circuits. Bit fidgety to assemble but once it's made up, it's great. I'm delighted with it :)
The system is very good but tends to lose its balance when the soldering iron is placed. However it is a tool that serves its purpose.
