Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Does this kit include project instructions?
A: No, this is a component box only. You can use textbooks or free online tutorials to create hundreds of circuits. See the "Links and References" section on this page for some examples of sites that provide loads of tutorials and example projects that you can replicate with this kit to learn electronics.

Q: Can kids use it?
A: Yes—recommended for ages 12+. Adult supervision is advised due to small parts and when using a hot soldering iron. If breadboard is used, then there's no concerns about a hot soldering iron (see the "Tools and Materials Required" section for more information on breadboard).

Q: How many projects can I build?
A: As many as you like! This box provides the building blocks for hundreds of circuits—from blinking LEDs to amplifiers.

Q: Is this useful for Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects?
A: Absolutely—these components are the same building blocks used in microcontroller projects.

Q: I'd like to build my own guitar amplifiers—is this kit suitable?
A: Yes—this kit is a great starting point if you’re interested in building your own guitar amplifiers. It includes transistors, resistors, capacitors, diodes, and op-amps (like the LM358 and JRC4558), which are the basic building blocks of audio circuits. While it doesn’t provide a full amplifier design, you can use these parts to prototype simple preamps, tone controls, and basic amplifier stages on a breadboard. For a full working guitar amp, you may need extra parts like higher-power transistors, heat sinks, or specialized audio ICs, but this box gives you the foundation to experiment and learn amplifier design and audio engineering from the ground up.

Product Specifications

Box dimensions (approx.)

  • Length: 22 cm
  • Width: 15.5 cm
  • Height: 6 cm
  • Weight: 0.43 kg

Components are separated by value into individual standard zip-lock bags (see image gallery).

Assembly and Usage Info

No single “assembly” project—this is an open-ended electronic component collection.

Great for prototyping, experimenting, and classroom demonstrations.

Works with breadboards for fast, no-solder circuits. Add a soldering kit if you want to build permanent boards. Refer to the "Tools and Materials Required" section on this page for more info.

Tools and Materials Required

Want to create projects without soldering?

No problem—use 'breadboard' instead. With breadboard, connections are made by simply pushing components and wires into slots—so soldering is not required. What's more, the components can be reused easily, meaning you can create potentially thousands of projects with this one box of components. Great news, we also sell Breadboard - see the link below!

BREADBOARD WITH JUMPER WIRES

Tools required without breadboard

  • Soldering iron
  • Solder wire

We sell these items as a bundle for just €25.95 (or currency equivalent) which saves 10 percent! Just click the link below to select your countries plug type and add to your order.

Good set for a beginner

I'm not electronics professional and took this kit to be able to have fun with constructing schemes. The idea was to cover most of frequently used parts. First scheme that I had to build required 1mkF capacitor. I was unlucky as my kit was missing exactly that piece (unlucky chance was 1 to 12). It has something like 47mkf twice. After sorting all capacitors and putting them in the boxes, I did some measurements. Many of them have very different capacity. I don't want to calculate and put you actual numbers (% from the label), but believe me, significant difference. I'm still happy with this set and understand that good price is because of not high end quality of components + not very strict packaging control. OK for my needs of beginner.
